About OSTEOPATHY

I believe in a holistic approach to healthcare, looking beyond the symptoms to find the root cause. Because pain is not just a condition—it’s a barrier keeping you from doing the things you love. And my mission? To help you break through that barrier.

Private Health Rebates & Medicare Coverage

Medicare Chronic Disease Management Plan (CDM)

Osteopathic treatment can be covered by Medicare if you qualify for the Chronic Disease Management (CDM) plan. This is available for individuals with chronic conditions (e.g., long-term pain or movement limitations).

How it works:
✔ Visit your GP for a referral to determine eligibility
✔ Medicare provides rebates for up to 5 osteo sessions per year
✔ You only pay the gap amount—Medicare handles the rest

Private Health Rebates

Osteopathic services are Private Health rebatable, so you can easily claim your rebate online.

Note: Please check with your provider to confirm the rebate amount for osteopathy services.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

  • During your first osteopathic consultation, I will take a detailed case history and conduct a physical examination to understand what might be causing your symptoms. If treatment is appropriate, I'll provide manual therapy and offer advice on further management, as well as a prognosis. If I believe further investigation or a referral to your GP is needed, I’ll guide you through that process.

By the end of the session, you should have a clearer understanding of what’s causing your complaint and the best way to manage it.

  • Initial appointments usually take about 45 minutes. Follow-up appointments are typically 30 minutes, but if you have a more complex issue or multiple complaints, I can offer 45-minute extended follow-up sessions.

  • No, you don't need a referral to see me as your osteopath. However, your GP or specialist may recommend osteopathic treatment for certain conditions. If you’re unsure whether osteopathy can help your specific condition, feel free to reach out and ask.

  • Yes, please bring any relevant information like x-rays, CT scans, MRIs, ultrasound scans, or doctors’ letters and reports. These can be very helpful for me in assessing your condition and providing the best care.

  • Please wear comfortable clothing that allows me to assess your movement and posture.

I perform a detailed physical examination to identify the source of your complaint, so you may be asked to change into your underwear (gowns are available if you prefer).

  • The Medicare Chronic Disease Management (CDM) program provides a rebate for up to five treatments per year for individuals with chronic conditions. If you're eligible, you’ll need a GP management plan and team care arrangements. If you think you might qualify, it’s best to talk to your GP. Once referred to me, I will report back to your GP regarding your treatment.

  • The number of treatments varies depending on your condition. Some people may only need 2-5 treatments, while others with more chronic issues may require additional sessions. I’ll discuss the most appropriate treatment plan for you during your consultation.

I believe in working together with you to achieve your goals, whether that’s moving more freely without pain or reaching a specific milestone. My role is to equip you with the tools and strategies needed for positive change. Your active participation in the recovery process is essential for reaching those goals.
